Common Questions

Welcome to Grand Dental Nichols Hills. We prepared this informational page to help answer questions about our services and our philosophy. Please feel free to share your thoughts with us. Enjoy!

1. How did you choose the new name Grand Dental Nichols Hills?

The name emphasizes that science and artistry are blended when it comes to providing patients with the highest level of dental care. Plus, we are located at the intersection of north Western Avenue and Grand Boulevard just south of El Reno. The name makes it simple for our patients to remember our location.

2. Tell us about yourselves.

Dr. Kirk, and Dr. Henry have years of experience in providing general dentistry, implant dentistry, and cosmetic dentistry. All told, over 30 years of combined experience! Each has received countless hours of advanced training in the latest techniques. In addition, our dentists have recently been recognized for their excellence by the Consumer Research Council of America as being some of “America’s Top Dentists,” as well as one of “OKC’s Best” by the Oklahoma Gazette readers and other popular publications and media.

Our practice philosophy is focused on preventative care and patient education. As a result of the countless hours of training in restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, our doctors understand the importance of prevention of disease and believe it is our role to help our patients do everything possible to prevent oral disease and its debilitating effects.

3. You have talked about creating a relaxing environment in Grand Dental Nichols Hills. Why is that important to me?

Almost everyone has anxiety about going to the dentist. Our commitment is to create a relaxing, non-threatening environment to alleviate this anxiety. It shouldn’t be scary anymore. Unfortunately, we find many adults have had a traumatic experience as a child and that has carried forward to adulthood. Making people feel comfortable so that they can get the treatment they need to be healthy is very important to us. The teeth can be a reflection of what is going on with a person’s general health. We want to help people be healthy. That’s our primary concern, always!

4. How have you created a relaxing environment in your office?

With our office, the design, the colors, the natural lighting, and the artwork are all intentional to create an anxiety-free space. Patients view our Zen Garden while looking outside our treatment rooms. The garden view is lovely and serene. In addition, we use aromatherapy candles, chair massagers, personal headphones with relaxing music and other spa-like amenities to comfort and relax our patients. Review our Relaxation Menu here.

5. You practice general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. What does that mean?

As general dentists, we are trained to take care of our patient's diverse dental needs. Among other treatments, we have advanced training in preventative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, neuromuscular dentistry/TMJ, and implant dentistry. Our team spends many hours each year attending continuing education courses in these and other areas to stay abreast of the latest advances in dental science.

6. Why doesn’t every person have a regular dentist?

Fear and cost of services are the two main reasons for not seeking dental care. However, having healthy and attractive teeth make a huge impact on your life. We try our best to make dental care an easy experience and to provide cost-effective services for the entire family. Most patients really like that we file all forms of insurance on their behalf and have easy financial options to finance their treatment needs.
